Project Summary

Tetra Tech is providing energy expertise and related technical and material assistance to the Government of Ukraine. This project focuses on enhancing the resilience, reliability, affordability, and security of the electricity, natural gas, and district heating sectors. The scope of work includes addressing immediate challenges and physical damage to energy infrastructure, as well as preparing for Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction and long-term energy security.

Position Summary

Tetra Tech is recruiting a Financial Analystto support the Financial and Economic Analysis team in evaluating energy markets and key sector players. This role involves collecting and analyzing financial and market data, assisting in the development of financial and economic models, and contributing to data-driven insights through visualizations and reporting. The analyst will play a key role in supporting investment assessments, regulatory monitoring, and market forecasting in the energy sector.

Position Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze financial data on key companies in the energy sector, including quarterly and year-end financial statements and long-term investment plans.
• Collect and summarize the energy market statistics and macroeconomic indicators to update and develop financial models.
• Monitor and summarize legislative and regulatory changes in the energy sector related to public service obligations, support schemes, tariff methodologies for distribution and transmission systems operators, and other issues.
• Support investment assessments and cost-benefit analyses through financial, economic, and investment model development.
• Update energy sector tariffs annually, or as revisions are made by NEURC and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (CMU).
• Prepare summary presentations of financial model outputs, including charts, tables, and written analysis.
• Conduct research and benchmarking of best practices and relevant EU energy acquis.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial and Economic Analysis Lead or Deputy Lead.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience in financial analysis, consulting, accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or accounting
• Experience in big data analysis, structuring and visualization
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Basic knowledge of IFRS and UAS and ability to analyze financial statements
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian
  
  

Preferred But Not Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance, economics or accounting
• Experience in the energy sector or familiarity with energy regulatory frameworks
  
  

Line Management Responsibility: N/A

Physical Demands and Work Environment: This will be a hybrid position, but will require frequent, regular attendance at the office in Kyiv, and may entail occasional travel within Ukraine for interaction with local stakeholders.
