We’re looking for a Scientific & Sustainability Director — a modern, strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of science, innovation, and impact. If you’re passionate about driving purpose-led transformation and influencing meaningful change across industries, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic scientific and regulatory leadership, ensuring global compliance and a smooth path to market for L'Oréal products.
• Lead the integration of L'Oréal's sustainability strategy, collaborating with cross-functional sustainability champions to drive transformation and implement the L'Oréal for the Future program, focusing on sustainable product offerings and go-to-market strategies.
• Spearhead the scientific validation and market introduction of new products, leveraging emerging trends and technologies to meet Ukrainian market needs, while adhering to local and international regulations.
• Manage a high-performing team (2 direct reports + interns), driving talent development and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Cultivate and maintain key stakeholder relationships (internal teams, regulatory bodies, scientific leaders, and European/AmCham business associations), ensuring alignment on market readiness and launch strategies.
• Oversee scientific aspects of product launches, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering measurable results.
  
  

YOUR FUTURE TEAM

Lead a team of scientific specialists and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Focus on scientific expertise related to market-ready L'Oréal products within Ukraine and championing L'Oréal's sustainability initiatives, especially the L'Oréal for the Future program. Collaborate with sustainability champions across functions to ensure effective program implementation, focusing on sustainable go-to-market strategies and consumer engagement.

Your Background & Skills

• Proven senior-level experience in scientific affairs, sustainability, or a closely related area
• Educational background in life sciences is strongly preferred
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing teams and building capabilities
• Strong track record in project management and delivering cross-functional initiatives
• In-depth understanding of regulatory and scientific frameworks
• Experience in public affairs or media relations is a strong plus
• Engagement with European business associations or AmCham is a valuable asset
• Fluent in English with expertise in corporate software applications
