What will you do in this position?
You are expected to strengthen the Monitoring function by supporting effective monitoring practices, structured data management and quality assurance. The role will contribute to harmonized monitoring systems, facilitate coordination among field and partner teams, and ensure reliable data flows for reporting and decision-making. The ideal candidate should be a team player who is willing to learn new skills and methods.

How can you make a difference?
The Monitoring Associate will provide technical and coordination support to monitoring activities and contribute to data management, quality assurance, and cross-cutting RAM tasks. Tasks include:
Monitoring activities
1) Provide technical support to maintain methodological rigor in monitoring, including contributions to sampling and tool design (e.g. developing, programming, testing and translating of data collection tools)
2) Maintain a structured data management processes from collection to analysis and archiving in accordance with corporate standards
3) Conduct validation, consolidation, cleaning and quality assurance of monitoring data
4) Support analysis and visualization of monitoring data and assist in drafting reports, notes and summaries
5) Support planning and facilitate coordination of field monitoring activities in close collaboration with monitoring teams in Field Offices and Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) teams, and track progress against planned targets
6) Maintain internal monitoring findings tracking and escalation system and triangulate findings with other operational data (e.g. CFM data)
7) Support the oversight of WFP’s partners monitoring activities to ensure alignment of systems, resources and reporting with agreed standards and recommendations
8) Participate in field monitoring missions to assess programme activity implementation and support the implementation of monitoring data collection exercises
Crosscutting RAM
1) Support the training of data collectors including preparation of materials
2) Collaborate with the Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) team to ensure beneficiaries’ feedback collected through monitoring channels is documented and escalated
3) Perform other assigned task
To join us in saving lives, changing lives, you will have:
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in relevant area will be an advantage.
Coursework/trainings in statistics, econometrics, database management, data visualisation, household economics or other relevant topics is an advantage.
Experience: Six or more years of progressively responsible work experience, with at least one year of experience of data analysis in a monitoring function.
Specific experience in one or several of the below topics is required:
- Analysis of project monitoring data (including survey data)
- Excellent data management skills
- Excellent command of Excel and either one of SPSS, STATA or R•
- Familiarity with digital data collection tools (e.g. Kobo, ODK) and coding/translation of surveys.
Post-secondary education can compensate for some years of experience. For example, you will be considered as eligible if you have:
- Three (3) years of work experience in combination with a Master’s Degree;
- Four (4) years of work experience in combination with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Information management
- Understanding of the Ukrainian humanitarian context
- Visualization skills (such as Tableau) are an advantage
Language: Fluency (level C) in both in English and Ukrainian languages.
