Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer (Freelance)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join the team on a freelance basis.

Our client is a US-based technology company and a recognized leader in 3D body scanning solutions. The platform combines advanced 3D imaging technology with cloud-based software to deliver accurate body measurements and analytics. Their solutions are widely used across industries such as fitness, apparel, weight management, healthcare, and uniforms, helping businesses improve customer experience through innovative digital products.

Industry: Fitness/Apparel/3D Technology.

Requirements

• 6+ years of commercial experience with Ruby on Rails;
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs;
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MySQL;
• Hands-on experience with Redis and Sidekiq;
• Experience working with AWS services (S3, EC2, SNS, SQS, etc.);
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments;
• Strong Git workflow knowledge;
• Understanding of monolithic applications and microservices architecture;
• Experience with GraphQL is a plus;
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Ruby on Rails applications;
• Design scalable backend architecture and implement new features;
• Build and integrate REST APIs and third-party services;
• Optimize application performance and database queries;
• Develop and maintain asynchronous processes using Sidekiq;
• Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews;
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code;
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application reliability;
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers throughout the development lifecycle;
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and engineering best practices.
