Associate III - Semiconductor S/W Product Development

Role Description

We are seeking a Validation Engineer to join our engineering team and support the validation of next-generation IPU (Infrastructure Processing Unit) card solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in Python-based automation, Linux system validation, simulation environments, and hardware/software debugging. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product functionality, quality, and performance throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain validation test plans for IPU cards using Python-based automation.
• Design and enhance Python automation frameworks, test scripts, and validation utilities.
• Set up, configure, and maintain simulation and emulation environments for pre-silicon and system-level validation.
• Perform Linux-based validation activities, including kernel, driver, and platform-level testing.
• Validate IPU firmware functionality within simulation and emulation environments.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams to investigate, debug, and resolve issues.
• Analyze validation results and test data to identify functional defects and performance concerns.
• Document test procedures, validation coverage, defects, and test outcomes.
• Support bring-up, characterization, and debugging of new IPU card revisions.
• Manage source code and validation assets using Git and standard version control practices.
• Utilize traffic generation and network validation tools such as Iperf, IXIA, Scapy, or similar technologies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of validation methodologies, automation frameworks, and testing processes.
  
  

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
  
  

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in hardware, firmware, system validation, or software testing.
• Experience developing automated test solutions using Python.
• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
• Experience debugging software and hardware integration issues.
• Familiarity with simulation or emulation-based validation environments.
• Experience working with Git or other version control systems.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Strong Python programming skills.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting and validation experience.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting.
• Ability to analyze logs, traces, and validation data.
• Knowledge of firmware and low-level system validation methodologies.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience validating networking, accelerator, NIC, SmartNIC, DPU, IPU, or embedded hardware products.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel, device drivers, and system internals.
• Experience with pre-silicon validation, simulation, or emulation platforms.
• Knowledge of networking performance and traffic analysis tools such as:
• Iperf
• IXIA
• Scapy
• Wireshark
• Exposure to CI/CD environments and automated validation pipelines.
• Understanding of hardware interfaces, PCIe, Ethernet, and system architecture.
