Job Description

Responsible for the maintenance, improvement, cleaning and manipulation of data in the company’s operational and clients’ analytic databases. You work with Advisors, software engineers, data analytics teams, data scientists, data warehouse engineers and data security protocols in order to understand and aid in the implementation of database requirements, analyze performance, and troubleshoot any existent issues. You define and build the data pipelines that will enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business.

Main Responsibilities

The role will also include significant consulting / client facing work comprised of:

• Identify solutions for client requests; understand key strategies and business processes of clients (internal and external) in order to provide the best solution to achieve their outcomes
• Drive & document technical requirements from high-level marketing and business needs of our end users and design tailored data solutions
• Develop data access queries/programs using BI tools
• Write code to build ETL processes to integrate information from various datasets or systems
• Design new data structures, add to and optimize existing data schemas
• Analyze upstream and downstream effects of a change in existing data structures and planning for change management
• Perform data cleaning/hygiene, data QC, and integrate data from both client internal and external data sources on Advanced Data Science Platform
• Provide support and troubleshoot questions arising from report developers and business users on these data solutions
• Track and document work done and communicate progress with business users in a timely manner
• Adapt and/or modify processes in response to changing circumstances
• Become well versed in industry best practices and adapt them to Wyzoo’s data engineering practices
• Work effectively across multiple complex projects
• Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches
