Description

Our client is an innovative manufacturer of medical devices in the United States that produces devices and software applications.

You will be leading the development of a security-critical Android mobile gateway application used to communicate with wearable cardiac-monitoring devices for a major U.S. healthcare provider.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Lead Mobile Developer to join our team and work closely with a US-based engineering team on the development and evolution of mobile applications.

The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on mobile development expertise with technical leadership skills and is comfortable working in a cross-functional, distributed environment.

• Strong commercial experience in mobile application development for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with iOS development using Swift and Android development using Kotlin.
• Solid knowledge of native mobile frameworks and development practices for both platforms, including SwiftUI/UIKit for iOS and Jetpack Compose/Android SDK for Android.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining production mobile applications across both iOS and Android.
• Previous experience in a Lead Developer, Technical Lead, or similar technical leadership role.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Experience with code reviews, technical design, debugging, and troubleshooting complex mobile application issues.
• Good understanding of CI/CD, build, deployment, and release processes for both App Store and Google Play.
• Experience working with REST APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Ability to work effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to independently drive technical topics to resolution.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with US-based engineering and product stakeholders.
  
  
  

Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English.

Job responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of mobile application development and drive implementation from design through release.
• Work closely with the US-based engineering team, Product, QA, Architecture, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Act as a technical lead for the mobile development team, providing technical direction, guidance, and support.
• Actively contribute to application development and remain hands-on with coding, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions and contribute to key technical decisions.
• Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards, engineering best practices, and agreed architecture.
• Support planning and estimation of development activities and help identify technical dependencies and risks.
• Drive resolution of complex technical issues and remove technical blockers for the development team.
• Collaborate closely with QA to ensure application quality, testability, and successful delivery.
• Create and contribute to development documentation required throughout the product lifecycle.
  
  
  

Maintain strong communication and alignment with the US team, including regular participation in meetings during the US/Europe overlap hours.
