Senior Java Backend Developer - Tieto Tech Consulting (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join Tieto Tech Consulting to support the development and extension of COM5.Mobile, a mature network management and optimization platform used by major telecom operators. The role focuses on backend services, TM Forum APIs, and network-related data models, working with Micronova’s Product Development and Customer Value Teams.

Technology Stack

• Backend: Java 21, Quarkus, REST APIs, JUnit
• Databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle
• Platform and tools: Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, SonarQube, Jira, Confluence
• Architecture: Microservices and legacy monolith components; strong backend focus
• Frontend: React / TypeScript (minor exposure)
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services for telecom network management solutions
• Develop and extend TMF-compliant APIs (e.g. TMF‑633, TMF‑639)
• Implement resource inventory and service catalog exposure for external systems
• Work with complex network and OSS data models (slicing, network resources, configuration data)
• Develop microservices using Java 21 and Quarkus
• Integrate services with PostgreSQL and Oracle databases
• Support audit and optimization use cases (e.g. slicing audits, discrepancy detection)
• Ensure code quality through unit tests, CI pipelines, and SonarQube
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams using Jira and Confluence
• Communicate in English with product owners, architects, and project leads
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience in Java backend development
• Strong experience with REST APIs and service-oriented architectures
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with modern Java frameworks (Quarkus, Spring Boot, similar)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and code quality tools
• Comfortable working in existing product codebases, not greenfield only
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
  
  

Would be an advantage

• Background in telecommunications or network management
• Experience with TM Forum APIs (TMF‑633, TMF‑639 or similar)
• Understanding of OSS / BSS systems
• Knowledge of 3GPP / 5G network concepts (slicing, NRM, gNBs, etc.)
• Experience working with network or radio-related data models
• Kubernetes / cloud-native experience beyond basic usage
