We are looking for a strong, ambitious engineering leader to lead and grow part of our Healthcare & Life Sciences portfolio. The portfolio’s clients are global leaders of the industry. For them, we build chip-to-cloud solutions for medical devices, SaMD, diagnostics, connected health, and clinical and data platforms.

Our Healthcare & Life Sciences engineering teams are global and growing, with most of them currently in Central and Eastern Europe. This is a strategic, hands-on role for a leader who combines deep technical expertise, delivery discipline in regulated environments, and business acumen. It offers the chance to shape the future of Healthcare & Life Sciences by leading cutting-edge product development for industry leaders and challengers.

Requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering, including 8+ years in delivery management and 4+ years in program or portfolio management across several accounts.
• Proven track record of leading engineering organizations of 100+ engineers (Director) or 250+ engineers (AVP) across multiple accounts and locations.
• Strong experience in Healthcare & Life Sciences (medical devices, SaMD, diagnostics/IVD, connected health, or healthcare IT), or alternatively in Automotive under comparable safety frameworks (ISO 26262, ASPICE).
• Hands-on experience delivering under a QMS in a regulated environment (e.g. ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA, EU MDR).
• Broad understanding of the chip-to-cloud stack (embedded, IoT, cloud, data/AI, mobile/web), with deep expertise in at least one area.
• Ability to go deep into architecture and technical challenges, and to defend technical choices to client leadership.
• Experience driving large engagements from pre-sales to execution: solution shaping, estimation, proposals, RFI/RFP responses.
• Proven ability to grow existing accounts and develop new business together with sales.
• Experience managing account or unit P&L: revenue forecasting, margin, pricing, and capacity planning.
• Experience working with foreign customers in the IT industry.
• Experience designing, tailoring, and reviewing KPIs and OKRs for subordinates.
• Strong commercial skills: negotiating MSAs and SOWs, and understanding of T&M, fixed-price and managed-services models.
• Track record of building and mentoring high-performing distributed teams, including senior managers and architects.
• Confident communication with C-level and VP-level client stakeholders.
• MSc in Computer Science, Electronics, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
• Fluent English; Polish, Slovak, Croatian, Romanian, Ukrainian or German is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
  
  
  

Job responsibilities

• Lead and scale a multi-account HLS engineering organization across several locations.
• Act as a trusted technical and delivery advisor to client executives.
• Partner with sales on account plans, pre-sales, proposals and new business; identify growth opportunities in the HLS market.
• Own contracts and commercial terms with clients and partners, in coordination with Legal.
• Ensure delivery meets regulatory and quality requirements under the established QMS.
• Own scope, estimates, and commitments, and manage risks to on-time, on-quality delivery.
• Stay hands-on: review architecture and key technical decisions, and help teams resolve complex issues.
• Own the unit’s P&L: revenue, margin, forecasting, and resource planning.
• Drive innovation, including AI adoption in engineering and new HLS service offerings, and represent GlobalLogic at client meetings and industry events.
• Build and develop delivery managers, engineering managers, and architects, including succession planning.
