Guidance Navigation Control Engineer

This role is ideal for an experienced GNC engineer with hands-on experience in terminal guidance, control systems, and autonomous aerial platforms. You will develop and validate guidance solutions tested in real-world conditions, working in a small, highly technical team of a U.S. defense technology company working on autonomous air defense solutions. This is a full-time, on-site role in Kyiv.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and validate terminal guidance system components and supporting software for autonomous aerial platforms.
• Build mathematical models, run simulations, and analyze system behavior under real-world conditions.
• Implement engineering software and integrate it with embedded and other system components.
• Analyze simulation and field test results, investigate discrepancies, and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on system integration and verification.
• Maintain technical documentation, test reports, and engineering specifications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of system architecture, software quality, and validation processes.
• Take part in occasional business trips within Ukraine for integration and testing.

What we expect from you:

• English level B2 or higher for effective technical communication.
• Hands-on experience in GNC, autonomous systems, control engineering, flight dynamics, or a closely related field.
• Strong foundation in control theory and dynamic modeling.
• Experience with simulation and analysis of complex system behavior.
• Experience with software testing, system integration, and technical documentation.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into robust, testable engineering solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to engineering challenges.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines.

Nice to Have:

• Experience developing terminal guidance or other autonomous navigation system components.
• Background in aerospace, robotics, UAVs, or real-time autonomous systems.
• Experience with sensor integration, state estimation, and system identification.
• Familiarity with embedded software and hardware-software integration.
• Experience with software-in-the-loop (SIL) or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
• Knowledge of verification, validation, and reliability assessment practices.
