Engineering Manager, Identity Intelligence

What we’re looking for:

As an Engineering Manager, you will guide a mission-driven team focused on transforming complex global risk data into clear, actionable intelligence. You'll play a key role in building systems that accelerate decision-making and streamline manual review processes for some of the world’s most recognized brands.

What would make you a strong fit:

• 7+ years in software development with 2+ years leading teams building scalable systems.
• Proven track record of delivering full-stack features—from backend services (Java or similar) to customer-facing UIs.
• Deep understanding of building and operating high-volume, highly available systems with low-latency requirements.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners, including machine learning, product, and design teams, to deliver impactful end-to-end solutions.
• Skilled in hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering talent while fostering a strong team culture.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills to prioritize and deliver complex initiatives.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS for scalable web services and data processing.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and manage the Identity Intelligence engineering team in our Europe R&D center, with 5 people in a span of control.
• Mentor and develop the team as they build core components of Sift’s fraud detection platform and identity intelligence systems.
• Drive planning and delivery of key product features, UI integrations, and platform improvements that enhance scalability and user experience.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering partners to align on priorities and ensure effective execution.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership to identify and prioritize strategic investments across both product features and technical initiatives.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture built on trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
